Ahead of 20 September – Oil Workers’ Day, a media tour to SOCAR’s Ethylene-Polyethylene Plant was organized within the framework of the Energy Dialogue Platform.
During the media tour, attended by representatives of more than 30 media outlets, participants were initially provided with detailed information on the plant’s operations, production capacity and modernization projects implemented over the years.
It was noted that the plant comprises Ethylene Production, Polyethylene Production, as well as Steam and Power Generation (SPG) facilities. Following reconstruction and modernization works, the annual design capacity of Ethylene Production was increased to 190 thousand tonnes of ethylene and 187 thousand tonnes of propylene. Commissioned in 2001, the SPG facility supplies the plant’s production units with steam and electricity.
The media representatives then toured the plant’s production facilities.
