SOCAR pursues the policy of performing its activities in accordance with high quality standards, both in Azerbaijan and abroad. To meet the expectations of our customers, we adhere to a number of commitments in our activities, performing our work in a consistent, timely, and flawless manner. Those obligations include setting measurable goals and targets for our business processes, increasing our international competitive advantage, being guided by the requirements of the Quality Management System and constantly developing it, assessing risks and taking preventive measures, and conducting a detailed analysis of the non-conformities that have occurred.
We operate in accordance with the requirements of the Quality Management System based on the main principles of international standards. A number of business units of SOCAR are certified according to international standards as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 31001, etc.
On the 13th of January 2021, SOCAR and the management of the American Petroleum Institute (API) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the safety and quality of industrial processes. Under the memorandum, the structural units of SOCAR will be certified according to API standards, the technical, quality and HSE management systems of processing, production, and transportation institutions will be adapted to API standards, as in the best practice. In purchasing operations, preference is given to the selection of products manufactured within the requirements of AZS, EN, API, DIN, GOST standards and services by enterprises with certificates according to ISO, API management standards.
On the 28th of July 2021, SOCAR and the Institute of Technological Initiatives in the Oil and Gas Industry of the Russian Federation (INTI) signed a memorandum of understanding, and based on this initiative, SOCAR specialists would be represented in various leading Committees of the Institute. The main purpose of the cooperation is to determine the interests of the parties by exchanging experience in various operational areas and to consider future areas of cooperation within the framework of their strategic interests.
The Company regularly carries out the process of adapting the main and auxiliary processes of SOCAR to international quality assurance standards, determining the international standards that need to be applied, and monitoring the compliance of SOCAR's application taking into account the quality criteria.
The Head Office prioritizes identifying and assessing risks and opportunities in quality control and assurance processes, preparing and monitoring the implementation of a preventive action plan, organizing quality audits in accordance with the requirements of international management systems (API, ISO, etc.) and verifying the application of quality standards, determining the main causes of detected discrepancies, and conducting analytical analysis.
The SOIMS standard is implemented in SOCAR by Executive Order of SOCAR President dated the 23rd of June 2020. SOIMS is SOCAR's Operations Integrity Management System. As a SOCAR family, we are committed to quality management principles and SOCAR's SOIMS requirements.
