Neftchi Sport Club PU


Neftchi Sports Club Public Union regularly arranges mass physical education and sports competitions dedicated to the significant historical and holiday days of our republic, as well as various events among oil workers (mini-football, volleyball, chess, checkers, backgammon, table tennis, swimming, etc.) by virtue of its activities. The most popular one of these events is the traditional Spartakiad of oil, gas and chemical industry workers, held in September of each year on the eve of Oil Workers’ Day in 14 sports and attended by more than 1000 employees in about 40 teams. The national team of the oil and gas industry comprised by the winners of this Spartakiad became the winner and prize-winner of the republican Spartakiad of sectoral trade unions and took 4th place overall and 1st place among Baku teams at the 5th International Games of the CIS countries held in Baku in September 2005. It should be noted that the Spartakiad of oil and gas industry workers has been held since 1992. Also, SOCAR teams won first place or became prizewinners in mini-football, 3x3 basketball, volleyball, table tennis, swimming, athletics, billiards, shooting, and backgammon competitions held by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan among employees of state agencies in the duration of 2023-2024. Furthermore, SOCAR team took 1st place in the 1st mini-football tournament held among state agencies operating in the energy sector, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev organised by the Ministry of Energy in 2023.

Currently, 4 sports facilities - the Olympic Training and Sports Complex named after T. Ismayilov, Garadagh Training and Sports Base, Mashal Sports Complex and Sumgayit Training and Sports Hall operate within the structure of Neftchi Sports Club PU.

Professional coaches on 26 sports serve oil workers as well as thousands of teenagers and young people at these sports facilities.
