In July 2017, SOCAR Marketing and Economic Operations Department exported 32 625 tons of diesel fuel, 1 968 tons of aircraft gasoline, 6 360 tons of high-pressure polyethylene, 586 tons of absolute isopropyl alcohol, 2 976 tons of pyrolytic oil tar, 2 504 tons of propylene, 1 058 tons of butylene butadiene. In January-July 2017, generally 348 180 tons of diesel fuel, 26 054 tons of aircraft gasoline, 117 tons of stove oil, 54 171 tons of high-pressure polyethylene, 6 405 tons of absolute isopropyl alcohol, 37 277 tons of pyrolytic oil tar, 24 662 tons of propylene, 16 378 tons of butylene butadiene were exported. For July 2017, the average prices for oil products in the world market were as follows: ethyl petrol-(per ton) $509.92, aircraft gasoline-$474.06, diesel fuel-$435.01 and black oil containing 1% sulphur-$286.50, high-pressure polyethylene - $1163.75, butylene butadiene - $515.66, propylene
In July 2017, SOCAR has exported 264 489 tons from Supsa port, 1 540 751 tons from Ceyhan port. Generally, 733 664 tons of crude oil was exported from Novorossiysk port, 1 579 673 tons from Supsa, 9 667 066 tons from Ceyhan port in January-July 2017. The indices of crude oil exported by the SOCAR reflect the volumes of crude oil belonging to both State of Azerbaijan and the Company.
In July 2017, price for Brent crude oil in the world market was $48.56 per barrel, Urals oil - $47.92 and BTC FOB Ceyhan crude oil - $49.34.
Third and fourth-year undergraduates studying Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Process Automation Engineering at Baku Higher Oil School undertake paid internship at BP company in Azerbaijan. In total, 14 BHOS students participate in on-the-job training, which will last for 10 weeks from July through September.
During the internship, the students gain practical experience in working jointly with specialists at a large international company, familiarize themselves with large-scale oil and gas projects operated by BP and carried out in the Caspian region, and get acquainted with advanced technologies and modern equipment used during implementation of these projects. They will visit production facilities and fabrication yards of BP company in Azerbaijan and have an opportunity to see practical engineering activity in the oil and gas sector with their own eyes.
In the course of the internship at BP in Azerbaijan, the students shall improve their technical and industrial skills and experience, while using the academic knowledge gained at BHOS. In addition, they will be introduced to standards and procedures for technological operations and processes as well as for quality control and quality assurance. The students will also learn about the company’s rules and regulations in the field of Health, Safety and Environment and the policies on Business Ethics and Integrity.
Upon the internship program completion, BHOS students shall prepare and submit reports through presentations about their on-the-job training, which will be assessed by the Higher School’s professors.
