Ruslan Sharafeddin oglu Alikhanov was born on 9 July 1976 in Baku. In 1992-1997, studied at Baku State University, and received Bachelor’s in International Law with honors. In 1995-1996, attended University of Missouri-St. Luis in in the United States, and completed the exchange program in Finance with honors. In 2000-2002, studied at Texas A&M University in the United States, and received Master of Science Degree in Finance with honors. From 1998 to 2000, worked at the World Bank as Projects Specialist in the fields of energy, agriculture, and finance in the Caspian region. From 2000 to 2001, was Strategic Business Manager at Dell Computer, USA. From 2001 to 2013, worked at McKinsey and Company and eventually became its Partner. From 2013 to 2014, held the position of President and CEO of FESCO, one of the biggest transportation companies of Central and Eastern Europe. From 2014 to 2018, headed the Argo Investment Company and engaged in the management of special situations and assets in the fields of logistics, IT, telecommunications, agriculture, and tourism. From 2018 to 2020, held various positions at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) such as Head of BCG TURN, Vice-President of BCG New York, Partner and Managing Director of BCG CIS, and Head of BCG Azerbaijan. Since August 2020, holds the position of Chief Executive Officer and member of Management Board of Azerbaijan Investment Holding. According to the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 23 January 2021, is a member of SOCAR Supervisory Board.
